Glitter has partnered with JEVS Human Resources as our newest nonprofit partner program. Through this grant-funded initiative we are bringing block cleaning and community engagement to ~2,000 blocks across Philadelphia and we’re hiring 21 JEVS clients who are looking to reenter the workforce. From the beginning of May the end of June 2024, together we are providing cleaning on thousands of residential blocks that have not had Glitter on their block before. After the grant, we invite neighbors to make pay-what-you-can contributions to help us sustain ongoing cleanups on every block.

This initiative is funded by a grant from the City of Philadelphia’s funding of JEVS Human Services.

PLEDGE to KEEP YOUR BLOCK CLEAN

We are working to clean up streets and show what is possible - keep that ‘clean block’ feeling going week after week by pledging what you can contribute to a subscription.

Impact and Goals

We’re committed to solving the litter crisis AND creating living wage work for our cleaners. For this project we have partnered with JEVS Human Services, a local nonprofit that works with individuals to create sustainable paths to independence and economic security.

We have also promoted several of our Cleaners into Supervisors and they are managing crews of JEVS clients as Glitter Cleaners. Part of each team’s work is to engage with neighbors on the blocks they are cleaning to explain the Glitter model and how neighbors can financial contributions to their block’s future cleanings. At the end of the project, the more blocks that sign up for weekly cleanings the more JEVS clients we can retain as permanent Glitter Cleaners. Clean blocks, employed neighbors; win-win!
