shared Composting Has Arrived on Your Block 🌿
Your neighbors are launching a shared compost bin in partnership with Glitter and Bennett Compost.
For $15 per household per month, you can drop off food scraps anytime.
The bin is secured and emptied weekly.
Simple. Local. Community-powered.
WHAT THIS IS
This is a block-level composting pilot.
Instead of each home having separate pickup, neighbors share one secured compost bin installed directly on the block.
Bennett Compost empties it weekly.
Glitter manages signups and communication.
We’re testing whether this shared model can:
Lower costs
Reduce truck stops
Increase neighborhood participation
Make composting visible and accessible
WHO WE ARE
A neighborhood-funded service that helps blocks stay clean and organized. Neighbors opt in together to fund shared services.
A Philadelphia-based compost hauling company serving thousands of households and businesses.
They provide the bins, collect them weekly, and process compost locally
HOW the pilot WORKS

3+ Houses

You’ll receive a lock code and can drop off scraps anytime into the bin, no need to wait or hold them inside.
-

Weekly Refresh
Bennett empties the bin weekly to keep things smelling good.
